Katelyn Caughell

Katelyn is the program manager for the Farmer Wellness Initiative and holds a master’s degree in social work. She has over a decade of experience working with marginalized populations, with a strong focus on mental health, addictions and rural service delivery, understanding the unique challenges of rural communities. Coming from a farming family in Elgin County, Katelyn saw the effects of mental health challenges and stigma in her own community and family. She is specifically interested in creating tailored support based on an individual’s needs and experiences, ensuring supports are responsive to the realities of rural life. Outside of her professional work, Katelyn enjoys spending time in her garden and enjoys the fall season most when she can harvest and preserve the produce from her garden.

“It’s easier to go out to the shop and know where your tools are when you need them, instead of having to find them all when you need to fix something. Counselling can be similar – it’s easier to get the skills and tools in your tool kit for when you need them.”
