Megan Burnside-Poitras

Megan is a passionate communicator, agricultural advocate and mental health champion. As senior strategic communications advisor with Agriculture Wellness Ontario, Megan leads provincewide initiatives to strengthen mental health awareness and support within farming communities. Megan is based in Hastings County where she grew up on a farm, is an active beef producer and she remains a proud supporter of 4-H and other youth agricultural programs, passionate about creating opportunities that inspire the next generation of leaders. Megan is committed to sparking meaningful conversations around mental health, leadership and community care in agriculture. She looks forward to connecting and sharing tools, stories and strategies to help others thrive, both on and off the farm.


“Most of my happy memories are related in some way to agriculture. At eight years old I was encouraged to give showing a try and, from that moment, it became my passion to work with cattle. It’s a love I seem to have passed to my daughter and watching her build memories is more fun than making my own ever was.”
