Rebecca Posthumus

Rebecca is the program coordinator for the In the Know program. She holds a bachelor of applied science, majoring in child, youth and family development from the University of Guelph, as well as her development service worker and social service worker diplomas. Rebecca’s interest in working with the ag community, particularly in mental health, comes from growing up in the industry and seeing the challenges people face every day. As a part of this community, she’s driven to help create resources, understanding and safe spaces so this community can thrive both personally and professionally. Through experiences like mentoring young 4‑H members, sharing stories over a hot drink after a long day in the barn or sharing a laugh at a Twilight meeting act as reminders of how much we rely on each other, how much we give and the joy of watching the next generation fall in love with agriculture.

“I’m inspired by the passion within this community and am committed to fostering understanding, providing education, and helping farmers and their families access the resources they need to thrive. This work allows me to bring together my love for the community I grew up in and my professional passion for mental health in a way that supports and strengthens both worlds.”
