HistoryAgriculture Wellness Ontario was established to fill a growing need in Ontario’s farming community. In 2021, CMHA Ontario was invited by agricultural and government partners to lead mental health programming tailored to the sector. Since launching in 2022, AgWO has expanded from three core programs to a provincewide suite of services and supports.
Mission, vision & valuesWe’re here to promote mental health in agriculture—through education, support and community. Our vision is a future where everyone in Ontario’s farming community feels seen, supported and mentally strong. We value compassion, accessibility, cultural responsiveness and real-world impact rooted in both research and lived experience. We are guided by five core values: community, accountability, authenticity, humanity and adaptability.
Who we serveAgWO serves the people who keep Ontario growing, from farmers, farm workers and their families to international agricultural workers and people in supporting roles who help the agricultural sector thrive. We work with individuals, communities, and organizations to offer support that reflects the challenges, strengths and diversity of the agricultural sector.
