Real farm experience

We combine real farm experience with mental health expertise

Agriculture Wellness Ontario (AgWO) supports the mental health and well-being of Ontario’s farming community through free counselling, tailored education and peer-based community support.

A suite of programs based out of Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Ontario, our team is made up of mental health professionals, agricultural advocates and community connectors who understand the unique realities of farm life—because we have lived it ourselves.

Rooted in both clinical expertise and firsthand farming experience, we’re here to build a more supported, resilient and connected agricultural community across Ontario.

Our team:

Deep roots in farming. A clear focus on wellness.

Armed with a unique blend of mental health knowledge and firsthand understanding of life on a farm, our team brings together mental health professionals and individuals with deep agricultural roots.

History

Agriculture Wellness Ontario was established to fill a growing need in Ontario’s farming community.

In 2021, CMHA Ontario was invited by agricultural and government partners to lead mental health programming tailored to the sector. Since launching in 2022, AgWO has expanded from three core programs to a provincewide suite of services and supports.

Mission Vision Values

Mission, vision & values

We’re here to promote mental health in agriculture—through education, support and community.

Our vision is a future where everyone in Ontario’s farming community feels seen, supported and mentally strong. We value compassion, accessibility, cultural responsiveness and real-world impact rooted in both research and lived experience.

We are guided by five core values: community, accountability, authenticity, humanity and adaptability.

Who we serve

AgWO serves the people who keep Ontario growing, from farmers, farm workers and their families to international agricultural workers and people in supporting roles who help the agricultural sector thrive.

We work with individuals, communities, and organizations to offer support that reflects the challenges, strengths and diversity of the agricultural sector.
